Mr. Pappin is both an Attorney and an Architect. He maintains dual professional registration both as a member of the Washington State Bar Association and as a Registered Architect (Washington). Mr. Pappin is a graduate of Seattle University School of Law (Juris Doctor) and Washington State University (Bachelor of Architecture).

In addition to professional registrations, Mr. Pappin is actively involved in professional associations. He is a member of the following groups:

 

  • WSBA Public Procurement and Private Construction Law Section
  • WSBA Environmental and Land-Use Law Section
  • King County Bar Association
  • American Bar Association including
    the Forum Committee on the Construction Industry
  • American Institute of Architects

Mr. Pappin has experience, first as an Architect and now as an Attorney, in the issues facing architects and consulting engineers, contractors and builders, and owners including home owners. He is familiar with the full process of development and building from the beginning issues of feasibility, zoning and land use, to purchase and sale agreements, consultant selection, contracts for design and construction services, construction contract administration, and finally, post construction issues of warranty and payment.

Before beginning his legal career, Mr. Pappin practiced architecture for over 15 years, principally with LMN Architects of Seattle. Mr. Pappin's architectural experience includes the management and design of major building projects. Architectural clients for whom services were provided include King County (the Kingdome), the City of Tacoma (Tacoma Dome) and the University of Washington (Husky Stadium, Hec-Edmunson Pavilion and other athletic facilities). Mr. Pappin has considerable experience in Project Management and Construction Contract Administration.

Because Mr. Pappin maintains current credentials in both professions, he has the experience to examine and analyze the issues of property, design and construction from diverse perspectives. He can provide comprehensive service to clients. His understanding and knowledge of the issues is the type that can only be acquired from hands on experience.
